Lancaster Architects worked on several projects for the Veteran’s Affairs group. Our first challenge was to rework three floors of occupied space in a large downtown building to accommodate a 40% increase in staffing to handle caseload for veterans returning from conflicts abroad, with minimal impact on operations. The work was phased by floor, allowing project groups to avoid downtime through strategic move management provided by the VA and careful coordination with workplace furniture consultants.
The second phase of work required converting an existing office space into a large training center to be used for frequent training sessions and townhall meetings. We transformed an underused satellite office and storage space with irregular geometry into a state of the art conference and training center.
